Eek. a mouse!
yes. i thought there was a mouse in the trailer.
3am - i wake up to the sound of SOMETHING rustling in the garbage. ew. i get chills just thinking about it. there was some serious movement going on in there. the first thing i thought was, "sh*t a mouse!" but then my paranoia set in... was it a snake, or tarantula, or scorpion (my list of creepy crawlies goes on...)? i nudge matt HARD, so that he wakes up, and i tell him what i'd heard. he of course, thinks im crazy, since i think EVERY sound is something-- but this was FOR REAL.
then he heard it.
:)
my brave man went over to the trash and sifted through it. nothing! then we heard it again. he sifted through the bathroom trash. nothing! he felt a breeze and chalked it up to the fact that the wind was blowing some plastic bag around in the trash can. yeah, i know... but hey, he closed the vent and we never heard it again.
5am - i send matt out the door with some yummy lunch, check on emmett and get ready to lay back down. oh, but no! what do i hear?? SQUEAK! omg. omg. omg. i text my sister in law and BEGGED her to come over. so now i've got her listening to these squeaks with me. her brave soul checked the garbage and behind the couch-- everywhere we heard a squeak.
i wanted to vomit.
after an hour of listening, and tracking and searching we turn up with nothing. not even a drop of mouse poop. so, being the scaredy cat that i am, i spent the WHOLE day at her trailer until my brave man came home from work.
the note i left him: "@ audries. mouse in house!"
he gets home and i make him sit still and listen for the infamous squeak. one minute passes, two minutes pass. SQUEAK! HE HEARS IT! thank goodness. im not as crazy as i seem, right? HE HEARS IT AGAIN!!! yes!!! i am so happy that i am not going crazy!!! he searches everywhere that audrie and i had looked. up and down, in and out...nothing. what the...
then matt gets this look on his face. the one that says, "you are SUCH a city girl. what am i going to do with you?" he gets up, goes outside, climbs on the roof and...
breaks the branches off the tree so that it stops scratching against the window.
i know. i know.
bless his heart for having to deal with me. :)
